Introduce a Professional Procurement Set up within the Organisation
SCOPE
Being a Greenfield site, Travis Perkins were looking at opportunities to standardise and rationalise their Supply Base in order to identify key areas where savings could be achieved.
There was a need to introduce a procurement process that championed best practices whilst raising the profile of Procurement at Board level through collaborative approach.
IMPLEMENT
The first point of call was the introduction of a bespoke Procurement Policy and Procedures that outlined the key strategic areas to be adhered to.
We also appointed expert Category Managers as well as introducing several E-Procurement tools to assist in the continual operational needs. There was also a core focus on forging stronger working relationships with key Stakeholders and Supply Chain to Travis Perkins.
DELIVER
Assured Procure were able to deliver significant cost savings and a streamline of the Supply Base. The introduction of e-auctions, contracts database and a P2P system ensured the team were able to consistently achieve above their targets.
Category Managers were successfully embedded within the Stakeholder functional teams. Procurement was now feeding regular reports in to Board Executives which ensured an integrated solution.
